Ad Operations

Campaigns fail in the plumbing: a pixel on the wrong thank-you page, a 5 MB banner on a 3G connection, a placement that never passed QA. We run ad operations so media plans actually traffic, tags fire, and creatives are the size a Johannesburg or Lusaka phone can load.

Analytics dashboard used in campaign operations
Tags
Industry measurement practice: if the conversion pixel is late or duplicated, every optimiser downstream is guessing. We treat tagging as a launch gate.
Weight
IAB and similar industry specs exist because heavy creative kills viewability. That constraint is sharper on metered mobile data.
QA
Industry ops standard: preview every size, every language, every click-through before go-live. Screenshots of 'it worked on my laptop' are not QA.
Consent
Where POPIA and cookie rules apply, tagging follows the consent state. Industry compliance is not optional because a campaign is in a hurry.

Industry benchmarks, not Accerstus client results. Verify before citing.

We make the plan traffickable, measurable and safe to switch on.

FRAMEWORK APPROACH

Ad operations is the control layer between strategy, creative and platforms. We document naming, versions, pixels and fallbacks so a campaign can be diagnosed at 06:00 without archaeology.

Build the trafficking sheet first.

Placements, sizes, click-throughs, UTM rules, frequency caps and dates. Media does not enter a platform until the sheet is agreed.

Implement tags with a single source of truth.

GTM, server-side where it is justified, and platform pixels that match the conversion the business actually wants, not the default lead event.

QA on the devices people use.

Android Chrome, in-app browsers, low bandwidth. Rich media that only plays on office wifi is a failed unit.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

Naming is a control system

Campaign, ad set and creative names that a human can grep. Clever strings that only one planner understands are technical debt.

Measure once, report many

Duplicated pixels inflate results. We would rather under-count than brief a client on ghost conversions.

Creative ops is ops

Versioning, specs and late swaps belong in the same runbook as tags. The designer is not the CDN.

No dark inventory by accident

Placement lists and brand-safety settings are documented. If a site is in the plan, it is named.

Frequently Asked Questions

Ad operations is the trafficking, tagging, quality assurance and documentation that turns a media plan into live, measurable campaigns. It is not media strategy, and it is not creative direction, though it constrains both.
Not unless that is the brief. We often sit under a media lead and own the ops layer: tags, QA, naming and creative versions.
Yes. Multi-platform campaigns are normal. The ops job is to keep IDs, UTMs and conversion definitions consistent across them.
We enforce creative weight, backup GIFs or statics, and we QA on throttled networks. Units that only render on fibre do not ship.
