Accerstus serves Kenya — we do not have a local office. Campaigns are built for Nairobi, Mombasa and the counties, in English and Kiswahili, on M-Pesa and billed in Kenyan shillings.
Where is Kenya?
Kenya sits on the Indian Ocean in East Africa, bordered by Tanzania, Uganda, South Sudan, Ethiopia and Somalia. Nairobi is the capital and the region’s main commercial city. Mombasa is the port and coastal commercial centre. Kisumu serves the Lake Victoria basin; Nakuru and Eldoret are important inland towns.
English and Kiswahili are both official. Kenyan media and advertising routinely mix the two; Sheng is common in Nairobi youth culture. The currency is the Kenyan shilling (KES). Kenya is a member of the East African Community and COMESA. Nairobi hosts regional headquarters for many pan-African brands, which is why a Kenya plan often has to work for the country and for East Africa at once.
How people buy and search
M-Pesa, launched in Kenya, is the default digital payment rail — checkout, ads and landing pages that ignore it look unfinished. Safaricom is the dominant mobile network; Airtel and Telkom compete. WhatsApp, Instagram and TikTok carry a large share of discovery; Google still captures high-intent search in English and Kiswahili. Nairobi is fintech, SaaS, media and national retail. Mombasa is port, tourism and coastal trade. Data is cheaper than in much of Southern Africa, but mobile-first design is still the rule. Queries use English, Kiswahili and county names — not only “Kenya”.
